Malpelo Island is a large outcrop of rock within the Pacific Ocean. This unihabited island is apart of Columbia and is one of the best places in the world to see large numbers of Hammerhead and Silkie sharks. Often combined with a live aboard trip to the Cocos islands |

The climate in the area is typically around 28°C through out the year, rainfall is also frequent all year round. |

January to December This site can be dived all year round, with December to May bringing calm colder waters and June to November bringing warmer waters rich with plankton and plenty of rain. |

This site is world renowned for the large schools of Hammerhead and Silkie Sharks around this island, sometimes in schools larger than 300 sharks. Other marine life that you will see in this area includes; moray eels, white tip sharks, galapagos shark, large schools of angel fish and tuna. Very occasionally sail fish, whale sharks and humpback/ blue Whales are seen in the area. |
